Fogo de Chão, part of a national chain, opened at Santana Row in February of this year, and the locally owned Taurinus opened in downtown San Jose the same month. Each offers a set-price, all-you-can-eat menu built around a vast array of grilled meats delivered to your table, with a serve-yourself salad bar and buffet.

That's the goal of a Florida company that said Tuesday it has raised $542 million in investment because of Hollywood's -- and the tech industry's -- fascination with virtual-reality technology.
